What does membership cost?
There are three levels of membership:
Professional – $106
Student – $60
Associate – $140
Renewal costs are the same minus the one time processing fee of $15.
How are you different from Professional Secretaries International (PSI)?
The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is the new name for PSI. It is our hope to expand the recognition levels of administrative professionals (e.g. Executive Assistants/Secretaries, Administrative Assistants/Secretaries, Office Professionals in a support environment etc.) by our new name and outlook.
Who should join IAAP?
Administrative professionals who consider themselves in a career profession and desire to enhance and/or develop their personal and professional skills.
How can attending chapter meetings help me get ahead or improve my skills in my job?
Here is a sampling of topics that have been presented at past meetings: Elements of Public Speaking; Event Planning for Executive Assistants; Business Etiquette Domestic & International; How to Prepare a Presentation in PowerPoint; and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
We also encourage networking among our members. We often call fellow members with questions, situations and job-related topics. In this way we gather solutions, new ideas and information about our profession.
How often do you meet?
The chapter meets every third Thursday of the month. The Board of Directors meets every first Thursday of the month to discuss the business of the chapter. This meeting is not restricted to Board members, and chapter members are encouraged to attend and participate.
What does your chapter do at a typical meeting?
Provide educational programs of interest, networking, and have FUN.
